What To Expect on Your First Visit to BBC

Visiting a church for the very first time can be intimidating… so we want to put you at ease by sharing a few answers to your questions and what you might expect on your first visit to Berean Baptist Church.
Who We Are
Berean Baptist Church is an independent, Bible believing church, standing for the historic fundamentals of the Christian Faith. We are named after the Bereans in Acts 17:10-11 “And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”
Like the Bereans of old, our priority is on the Word of God, so you can expect that we will use the Bible as our central focus in every service and ministry. We also greatly encourage everyone to search the Scriptures daily on their own.
Our Purpose Statement
“Berean Baptist Church exists to glorify God by preaching the Gospel, making disciples, living out the truths of the Word of God, and showing the love of Christ to the world.”

How Should I Dress?
There is not a dress code to attend Berean Baptist Church for members or guests. Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress; however, we would rather have a person feel welcome to come and hear the Word of God “as-is” instead of staying home because they are not clothed a certain way. We do our best to teach the “whole counsel of God” here (meaning “all of the Bible”, not just our favorite parts), which includes principles about how we should dress. But we also recognize that wearing certain attire does not make a person “spiritual” or “nearer to God”, that all of us are fallen sinners by nature, and that God meets us where we are. None of us are worthy of His grace, no matter how fancy we might try to clothe ourselves. We do ask those attending to remember that the goal of our services is to honor the Lord—and to not purposefully distract attention from Him.
How Long Are the Services?
Our Sunday morning service usually lasts about 60 minutes and our Wednesday evening prayer meeting is usually about 60 minutes. Many of our members and regular attenders stay and fellowship after the services and we invite you to do the same and get to know our church family as well.
Am I Expected to Participate in the Offering?
No. We don’t invite you to Berean Baptist Church for your offering. We want our service to be a blessing to you. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God’s Word, and a place where you can grow in God’s grace. Please don’t feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.
